Introducing: The Omega Speedmaster "First Omega In Space" Now In Sedna Gold
We preferred the “Principal Omega In Space” a lot when we saw it in 2012 and Ben Clymer did a pretty top to bottom gander at its highlights . The new model offers a great deal of them, including the straight carries and combination of alpha hands and twirly doo hands on the subdials – which as he called attention to in his story are really right for the reference that space explorer Wally Schirra wore into space on Mercury Atlas 8 of every 1962. The fundamental distinction here is obviously the case material, which in the new model is 18k Sedna Gold (Omega’s restrictive rose gold combination, combining gold, copper, and palladium). Other new highlights in this variety are an earthy colored cleaned fired bezel with, with chromium nitride tachometer scale; earthy colored subdials and an earthy colored minutes track, and a silver opaline dial.
The hands are 18k Sedna Gold too, and the caseback – which has a 1962seahorse emblem – is engraved “THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE” and “OCTOBER 3, 1962.”
Price at dispatch is set at $18,000 and it’s accessible at Omega boutiques.
