Introducing: The Rotonde De Cartier Astromystérieux
This watch is a fabulous illustration of the specialized abilities that Cartier has and doesn’t flaunt enough. Cartier is known for their vintage (and current) secret tickers – Louis Cartier and Maurice Couet dominated the secret check system in 1912, taking motivation from the celebrated illusionist Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin. This year, Cartier chose to change and apply this innovation to the Rotonde de Cartier in their fresh out of the box new Astromystérieux.
This watch is unique in relation to any watch I have found lately. It isn’t only a secret watch, but instead a secret development. Rather than simply the hands being joined to the two moving precious stones, the whole escapement, balance-wheel, gear train, and barrel are concentrated under the hands so they move in sync.
The development of the escapement, balance wheel, gear-train, and barrel is to some degree like a tourbillon in that it is suspended and is upheld by an enclosure like construction (the turning sapphire crystals).
The Astromystérieux is 43.5 mm in distance across and the development is a type 9462 manual-winding development. This piece is restricted to a progression of 100 pieces. Valuing and subtleties to come. For more data, if it’s not too much trouble, visit the Cartier site .
